Los Angeles Dodgers Win 3-0 Against Chicago White Sox | Injury Updates and Outstanding Performances

James Paxton was brilliant through five innings. The Dodgers scored two runs in the seventh and added another run in the ninth. On a beautiful Monday night despite a thirty-minute rain delay, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago White Sox 3-to-0.

For the first time this season, the Dodgers played without Teoscar Hernandez, who is tending to a family situation.

Clayton Kershaw will be shut down for a week after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder. This is normal. He will resume throwing after a week. There was no structural damage after having an MRI. Kershaw doesn’t know when he will return to the starting rotation.

Shohei Ohtani was named the National League Player of the Week. He was fantastic when he moved to the lead off after Mookie Betts broke his hand. He hit .458 with four home runs and 11 RBI. Ohtani might be the first DH to win an MVP award.

With two outs in the first, Freddie Freeman had an infield single. Andy Pages singled Freddie Freeman to second. The Dodgers stranded the runners.

James Paxton retired two before walking a batter and allowing a single. He got out of the first inning without a run scoring.

Miguel Vargas singled to open the second. Chris Taylor grounded into a double play.

With two outs in the second, Paxton walked a batter but finished the inning easily.

In the third, the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively.

In the third, Paxton struggled but didn’t let any runs score.

To open the fourth, Miguel Rojas singled, but Kiké Hernández hit into a double play.

In the fourth, Paxton was perfect.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fifth.

Paxton was perfect in the fifth.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Daniel Hudson relieved Paxton in the sixth with a scoreless inning despite allowing a single.

To open the seventh, Rojas singled. With an out, Kiké Hernández doubled in Rojas. Taylor reached second and Hernández scored on a throwing error. Shohei Ohtani walked.

Rain delay.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything more in the seventh.

Yohan Ramirez relieved Hudson in the seventh with a perfect inning.

With two outs in the eighth, Gavin Lux singled and was stranded.

Evan Phillips relieved Ramirez in the eighth. He allowed a double but didn’t allow a run.

To start the ninth, Taylor singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. Ohtani’s sacrifice fly drove in Taylor.

Alex Vesia hurled a perfect ninth.
