Despite Bobby Miller going only two innings, the Dodger pitching was magnificent. Shohei Ohtani led off the game with a solo home run. On a hot Tuesday night on the South Side of Chicago, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago White Sox 4-to-3.

Shohei Ohtani led off the game with a solo home run.

Bobby Miller, a Chicago suburb native, walked the lead-off batter and allowed a two-run homer. Miller was overthrowing and wild. He allowed an infield single and an RBI double. Miller finally got out of the first inning.

Despite Jason Heyward’s line drive, Miguel Rojas was plunked by a pitch. Gavin Lux singled. The Dodgers left the runners.

In the second, Miller allowed a single. He couldn’t put away the hitters with two strikes. He got a double play. Then, he walked Tommy Pham. He issued another walk. He finally got a ground out to end the inning.

Ohtani walked to start the third. Freddie Freeman blasted a two-run homer.

Michael Petersen despite allowing a double hurled a scoreless third in relief of Miller.

With one out in the fourth, Lux walked. Miguel Vargas singled Lux to third. Ohtani singled in Lux.  The Dodgers finished their scoring in the fourth.

Petersen hurled a scoreless fourth.

With two outs in the fifth, Jason Heyward doubled but didn’t score.

Yohan Ramirez relieved Petersen in the fifth. He allowed a double and single.

Since Ramirez pitched yesterday, Dave Roberts relieved him after four batters with Anthony Banda. Banda escaped from the fifth-inning jam scorelessly.

With an out in the sixth, Vargas walked. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Banda continued pitching in the sixth and allowed a one-out walk.

With two outs in the sixth, Blake Treinen relieved Banda and got the last out.

Daniel Hudson relieved Treinen in the eighth with a scoreless inning.

Evan Phillips closed out the win with a perfect ninth.
