Sunday night was not the Dodgers’ night. Yu Darvish was brilliant for seven innings. Jack Flaherty was satisfactory in his 5.1 innings. Fernando Tatis, Jr., blasted two home runs, Xander Bogaerts socked a home run, Kyle Higashioka blasted a solo home run, and David Peralta hit a two-run homer. Max Muncy blasted a solo home run in the ninth. The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the San Diego Padres 10-to-2.

Jack Flaherty pitched the most important game as a Dodger. With an out in the first, Fernando Tatis, Jr., blasted a solo home run. Flaherty issued a walk. Flaherty got out of the inning with a double play. He didn’t get low strikes from the ump.

Mookie Betts was stolen from a home run by Jackson Profar, and the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the first.

To open the second, Flaherty allowed a single and a two-run homer by David Peralta. Flaherty didn’t have a good command of his fastball. He escaped from the inning without allowing any more runs.

Teoscar Hernández singled to open the second, and Max Muncy singled Hernández to third. Will Smith walked to load the bases. Gavin Lux had a sacrifice fly scoring Hernández. Tommy Edman hit it hard for a double play.

Flaherty allowed a double to Tatis with an out in the third. He escaped from the inning without allowing a run, but his control was unsatisfactory.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the third.

Flaherty was perfect in the fourth.

Tatis robbed Freddie Freeman of a double to start the fourth. Thanks to sparkling defense by the Padres, the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the inning.

Flaherty was perfect again in the fifth.

With one out in the fifth, Lux singled, but Edman hit into a force play erasing Lux. Edman stole second. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Freddie Freeman left the game before the sixth. His ankle was bothering him.

Flaherty plunked Tatis to begin the sixth. Profar reached on a bunt single.

With an out in the sixth, Anthony Banda relieved Flaherty.   Banda allowed a run-scoring single. He retired the next two batters.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Banda continued pitching in the seventh. He retired a batter.

Daniel Hudson relieved Banda. He retired two outs in the seventh.

A problem between the Dodgers and the Padres delayed the bottom of the seventh inning. The feelings between these teams are high. There would be a brawl at some point during this series. Dodger fans are throwing things on the field. In 1994, the Dodgers had to forfeit a game since Dodger fans threw free balls on the field.

Teoscar Hernández walked to open the seventh and stole second. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Ryan Brasier relieved Hudson in the eighth. With two outs, Manny Machado singled. Jackson Merrill socked a two-run homer. Michael Grove relieved Brasier with two outs in the eighth. Xander Bogaerts socked a solo home run with a hamstring injury.

Edman reached on an infield single to open the eighth. Bogaerts left the game with a hamstring injury. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Edgardo Henriquez relieved Grove in the ninth. He allowed a solo home run with an out. He allowed a single. Tatis blasted a two-run homer.
