A cool but beautiful Friday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-to-0. Yoshinobu Yamamoto was brilliant for six innings. Tommy Edman socked a three-run homer in the sixth. Kirby Yates, Blake Treinen, and Tanner Scott were brilliant.

On 103 pitches, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was great like he has been since Opening Day. His splitter was great, and he could spot his fastball anywhere in the strike zone. Yamamoto allowed only two hits, walked one, and struck out nine.

The Dodgers didn’t have offense, except in the sixth inning. Teoscar Hernández singled, and a pitch plunked Freddie Freeman before Tommy Edman socked his sixth homer of the year.

Like all year, the Dodger bullpen was brilliant. Kirby Yates struck out two in the seventh. Yates, Blake Treinen, and Tanner Scott didn’t allow a hit or issue a walk.

After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
