On a pleasant Sunday afternoon in Toronto, Canada, the Toronto Blue Jays snapped the Los Angeles Dodgers’ six-game winning streak by beating them 3-to-1. The Blue Jays had marvelous defense.

Michael Grove struggled and allowed three runs in the second inning. If the Dodgers had a sixth starter, they wouldn’t have bullpen games weekly. Lately, Grove had performed better but not Sunday. Grove doesn’t have an extraordinary pitch like most young Dodger pitchers.

Alex Vesia has been brilliant but struggled Sunday in the third.  He hurled a scoreless third.

Ryan Yarbrough, who should be in the rotation, started in the fourth. The Dodgers like Yarbrough’s versatility and want to take advantage of it. Yarbrough was outstanding in his four-inning.

Nabil Crismatt pitched a perfect eighth inning.

In the sixth, Freddie Freeman hit his second home run.

The Dodgers couldn’t capitalize on many scoring opportunities, particularly in the eighth with the bases loaded.

After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
