On a beautiful Saturday evening at Great American Ball Park, Walker Buehler should have won the game if he received adequate offensive support. The Los Angeles Dodgers wasted many scoring opportunities. The Dodgers lost to the Cincinnati Reds 3-to-1.

While Mookie Betts singled to open the first, he was picked off to end the inning.

Walker Buehler allowed a single but began a double play. He allowed a solo home run. Unlike in his previous start, Buehler didn’t have exquisite command. He allowed a single and a stolen base but worked out of a jam in the first.

To open the second, Will Smith singled. Teoscar Hernández had an infield single moving Smith to second. Gavin Lux walked to load the bases without any out. Jason Heyward hit into a double play but scored the tying run.

In the second, Buehler allowed another solo homer with two outs but didn’t allow anything else.

The Dodgers did nothing offensively in the third.

Buehler hurled a perfect third.

To open the fourth, Freddie Freeman doubled but couldn’t score.

Since the last out in the second, Buehler has been perfect.

In the fifth, the Dodgers’ offense didn’t produce.

With an out in the fifth, Buehler walked a batter but didn’t allow any more runs to score.

To open the sixth, Shohei Ohtani tripled but didn’t score.

In the sixth, Buehler allowed a run, and with two outs, he was relieved by Ryan Yarbrough who allowed a single and picked off the runner.
