Well, after 43 years, the Los Angeles Dodgers will meet the New York Yankees in the World Series. The Dodgers didn’t have superb pitching, but the Dodger offense kept dominating. Tommy Edman and Will Smith homered. The Dodgers scored the most runs in the postseason ever. On a picturesque Sunday night at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers smacked the New York Mets 10-to-5.

Freddie Freeman wouldn’t start Game 6 because Dave Roberts felt like Freeman’s injured ankle had compromised his swing. During the postseason, Freeman had no extra-base hit. That is not Freddie Freeman.

Michael Kopech started the game. He opened the game with a walk. He uncorked a wild pitch moving the runner to second. Chris Taylor’s error scored a run. He issued another walk. He got out of the jam scorelessly.

Shohei Ohtani singled to open the first. Teoscar Hernández singled moving Ohtani to third. Tommy Edman doubled in Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández. Kiké Hernández walked.

Ben Casparius relieved Kopech in the second. With two outs, he issued a walk. He allowed a single moving the runner to second. He got out of the jam scorelessly.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fifth.

Evan Phillips relieved Brasier in the sixth. He allowed a single to start the inning, and he issued a walk with two outs. Another walk loaded the bases. Phillips stranded the runners.

Smith walked to begin the sixth. Taylor had a bunt single moving Smith to second. Ohtani singled in Smith and moved Taylor to second. Betts hit into a force play erasing Ohtani. Betts stole second. The Dodgers didn’t score any more runs.
