The Dodgers Walloped the Padres

On a picture-perfect Thursday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers socked the San Diego Padres 14-to-1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers scored eight runs in the first inning against the San Diego Padres’ Opening Day starter Joe Musgrove.

Gavin Stone started for the Dodgers and retired the Padres in order.

To start the second inning, Michael Grove allowed a hit and a walk but didn’t allow a run.

Ricky Vanasco had a perfect third.

To pitch the fourth inning, Alex Vesia allowed a solo home run and a walk but escaped the inning.

Elieser Hernández pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

In the sixth inning, the Dodgers scored six runs.

Stephen Gonsalves pitched a scoreless sixth.

Kevin Gowdy pitched a scoreless seventh.

Eduardo Salazar hurled a scoreless eighth, and John Rooney was perfect in the ninth inning.

­Friday, the Dodgers face the Padres at Camelback Ranch at 12 PM PST on SportsNet LA.
