On a Monday night in Phoenix, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-to-4. For the first time since 2006, the Dodgers didn’t strike out.

Shohei Ohtani singled with one out in the first, and Freddie Freeman singled. Will Smith hit into a double play.

James Paxton continued to walk hitters that led to the first run for the Diamondbacks. He was better in the second but allowed two hits. After loaded the bases in the second inning, Paxton wiggled out of the jam. For the third and fourth innings, Paxton breezed. If he can locate the strike zone, he is successful. He was in a jam in the fifth and allowed three runs.

Teoscar Hernandez singled to start the second inning, and Max Muncy was hit by a pitch. Kiké Hernandez doubled scoring T. Hernandez. Andy Pages had a sacrifice fly to score Muncy. Miguel Rojas walked. Mookie Betts walked to load the bases, but Ohtani hit into a double play.

In the fourth, K. Hernandez singled but was left.

Both Ohtani, Freeman, and Smith walked to load the bases in the fifth. T. Hernandez doubled in two runs. Muncy grounded out. Andy Pages doubled in two more runs.  Rojas walked to load the bases. Mookie Betts grounded out to end the inning.

Smith socked a home run in the sixth.

Daniel Hudson hurled a perfect sixth inning on seven pitches against his old team.

Joe Kelly pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Rojas opened the eighth with a double, Betts walked, and Ohtani singled in Rojas.

Alex Vesia hurled a good eighth.

Evan Phillips hurled a perfect ninth inning.
