The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t done anything this winter, except extending Max Muncy. Of course, Mookie Betts won the Silver Slugger.
Everyone who follows the Dodgers thinks this offseason will be significant for the Dodgers. When most people think the Dodgers will do something, they look like fools.
Am I the only person on the planet tired of hearing about Shohei Ohtani? Yes, Otani is a unique, fantastic player. While the Dodgers could use him offensively and if he can bounce back from his second Tommy John surgery, he can be an ace of the Dodger starting rotation, do the Dodgers want to pay him more than $500 million over ten years?
The Dodgers could market Ohtani to make his salary by using his name and image. However, they need starting rotation help, an outfielder, and a third baseman. They don’t have either Julio Urías or Clayton Kershaw. No one knows how Walker Buehler will perform in the 2024 season after his second Tommy John surgery. The Dodgers are going to rely heavily on Bobby Miller, Ryan Pepiot, and Emmet Sheehan. They need a lefthander in their starting rotation and an experienced right-handed starter.
The Dodgers should sign lefthander Blake Snell, who probably will win the National League Cy Young Award while playing for a lousy team, the San Diego Padres. He is the perfect fit for the Dodgers and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays when Andrew Friedman was there. The problem is that Snell is represented by Scott Boras, who the Dodgers dislike dealing with.
Who is the Dodger left fielder?
The Dodgers need a better defensive third baseman than Muncy to help their weak starting rotation.
