The Los Angeles Dodgers gave their fans a late Christmas present when on Friday, the Dodgers gave Teoscar Hernàndez a three-year $66 million contract with a club option. Without Hernàndez, the Dodgers wouldn’t have won the World Series.

At 32, Hernàndez became a fan favorite. He is the first Dodger to win the Home Run Derby at the All-Star break. He complimented the Dodger three former MVP, Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman. In 154 games, Hernàndez had a .272 batting average, 33 home runs, and 99 RBI. He had many important hits during the postseason.

Betts described Teoscar Hernàndez as “the most even-kneel person he ever met.” From the start of spring training, he established a special bond with Ohtani. His million-carat smile brightens everyone’s day regardless of what happened to it.

The Dodgers did good bringing back Teoscar Hernàndez for the next three years. With Betts moving to shortstop, Hernàndez can play his natural position, right field, where his defense is better.

Since 1977, I have been an avid Dodger fan. In high school, I became my school's baseball statistician and vowed to have a career in baseball. After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
