Shohei Ohtani Shined in His Return to Tokyo Dome

At Tokyo Dome, the Los Angeles Dodgers met the Giants from Japan. The Giants are like the New York Yankees. The Dodgers used three home runs by Michael Conforto, Shohei Ohtani, and Tommy Edman to defeat the Giants 5-to-1.

Mookie Betts won’t play tonight or tomorrow because of an illness.

Shohei Ohtani walked to leadoff the game but was erased on Tommy Edman’s double play.

Justin Wrobleski started for the Dodgers and hurled a perfect inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the second.

Wrobleski was perfect in the second inning.

Michael Conforto blasted a solo home run to open the third. Miguel Rojas was plunked by a pitch. Andy Pages doubled in Rojas. Ohtani socked a two-run homer. Edman singled and was caught stealing. Teoscar Hernández slammed a home run.

Ben Casparius allowed a double to start the third but didn’t allow anything else.

Rojas doubled with two outs in the fourth but didn’t advance.

Anthony Banda hurled 9 pitches to have a perfect fourth inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fifth.

Alex Vesia hurled a fifth inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Kirby Yates allowed a single in the sixth and allowed a stolen base. He walked a batter. He gave up a run-producing single and another stolen base. He escaped the jam.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the seventh.

Blake Treinen allowed a lead-off single in the seventh but nothing else.

With two outs in the eighth, Austin Barnes singled but didn’t advance.

Tanner Scott allowed a single with an out in the eighth but nothing else.

 The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the ninth.

Jack Dreyer who had a fabulous spring training hurled a perfect ninth inning.
