On Lou Gehrig’s Day, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the New York Mets 4-to-3 in ten innings. Dustin May was brilliant for six innings, and Lou Trivino and Jack Dreyer were perfect in relief. Shohei Ohtani had a monstrous solo home run and sacrifice fly. Tanner Scott allowed two runs in the tenth, but the Dodgers couldn’t come back.
Dustin May allowed a solo home run to Francisco Lindor to start the game. He issued a walk. Juan Soto hit into a double play. Hyeseong Kim grabbed a liner to end the inning.
With two outs in the first, Freddie Freeman had an infield single. Andy Pages grounded out to end the inning.
In the second, May was perfect.
Although Max Muncy walked, the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the second.
May was perfect in the third.

With an out in the fourth, Juan Soto doubled, and May issued a walk. May escaped from the jam scorelessly.
Teoscar Hernández singled to begin the fourth and moved to second on Freeman’s ground ball. Hernández didn’t score.
With an out in the fifth, May allowed a single. He gave up another single. He allowed a ground-rule double that scored a run. Soto was intentionally walked to load the bases. May escaped the jam.
With an out in the fifth, Tommy Edman had an infield single, and Hyeseong Kim singled Edman to second. The Dodgers stranded the runners.
With an out in the sixth, May allowed a single but nothing else.
Freeman singled with an out in the sixth, and Muncy walked. Michael Conforto walked to load the bases. Edman struck out to end the threat.
Jack Dreyer relieved May in the seventh with a perfect frame.
With two outs in the seventh, Shohei Ohtani launched the ball to outer space for his 23rd homer.
Dreyer continued pitching in the eighth and was perfect.
Andy Pages singled with an out in the eighth and was stranded.
In the ninth, Lou Trivino relieved Dreyer with a perfect inning.
To begin the ninth, Edman singled and stole second. Kim had an infield single. Ohtani had a sacrifice fly scoring Edman. Kim stole second.
Tanner Scott relieved Trivino in the tenth and allowed a run-scoring double. He gave up a run-producing single. Lindor stole second. Scott issued a walk. He escaped from the jam.
Freeman started the tenth with a walk. Pages singled Teoscar Hernández.
