A day before the Los Angeles Dodgers’ first exhibition game, Roki Sasaki threw to major league players this season. Everyone was impressed. While he is on a minor league contract, everyone thinks Sasaki will be in the Dodger starting rotation this year.

Tommy Edman did hit many line drives against Sasaki, but he was impressed. “It has a lot of deviation from the fastball,” Edman said.

Sasaki has a nasty splitter. Nobody can hit his splitter. If Sasaki can develop a slider, he will win at least one Cy Young Award. During the batting practice, he threw many sliders.

Many people think Sasaki must have three quality pitches to succeed in the major leagues. At 23, Sasaki wants to be the best pitcher ever in the major leagues. So far, he has shown that he has the ability to be a good starter.
