Every baseball-knowledgeable people know the Colorado Rockies will be in the cellar of the National League Western Division. The Rockies draw well, but the ownership doesn’t want to spend money on improving the team.

When the ownership spends money, it is not usually on a prudent player. A couple of years ago, the Rockies signed Kris Bryant to a long-term contract. Since becoming a Rocky, Bryant has spent more time on the IL than playing on the diamond.

Since 1993 when the Rockies came into the National League, they haven’t figured out how to pitch in the altitude. Kyle Freeland, coming off an injury, is the ace of a poor pitching staff.

Usually, the Rockies are known for good offense. Last season, they couldn’t score if their life depended on it, and since they didn’t change their roster, nobody expects them to have good offensive production.

Most baseball people feel badly for the Rockies’ manager Bud Black. He and the city of Denver deserve a better run franchise than the Rockies. The Rockies haven’t been to the postseason since 2018. This year won’t be any different.

Since 1977, I have been an avid Dodger fan. In high school, I became my school's baseball statistician and vowed to have a career in baseball. After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers. No article will take you more than two minutes to read. Missed a game? No problem. You can read a game summary in two minutes or less.
