The Los Angeles Dodgers are the best team to start the season after winning a world championship. On a cool Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 6-to-5. Blake Snell was victimized by sloppy defense and allowed five runs in four innings. Ben Casparius, Kirby Yates, and Jack Dreyer pitched with excellence. Tommy Edman had a two-run homer, and Michael Conforto homered for the first time in a Dodger uniform. Max Muncy, who was slumping in the early 2025 season, had a two-run double. Again, Shohei Ohtani gave the Dodgers what they needed when he homered in the ninth to win the game.
Blake Snell walked two hitters with two outs in the first inning. Max Muncy had a throwing error that allowed a run.

Andy Pages was plunked by a pitch to start the fifth, and Shohei Ohtani singled him to third. Mookie Betts hit into a double play. Ohtani went to second on an errant pickoff throw. The Dodgers didn’t capitalize on the scoring opportunity.
Casparius continued pitching and issued a walk to start the sixth. He allowed a single. He filled the bases with another single. Casparius worked out of the jam scorelessly.
