On Monday, Shohei Ohtani took live batting practice against Ryan Brasier, Blake Treinen, and J.P. Feyereisen. He homered against Feyereisen.
This spring training, all eyes have been on Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. These players will be keys to a successful 2024 season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. These players have impressed.
Coming off both an oblique injury and his Tommy John surgery, Ohtani looks on track to play on Opening Day in South Korea. Ohtani has been everywhere at Camelback Ranch.
Before Monday, Ohtani took controlled batting practice and homered regularly. On Monday, he took Feyereisen, who missed the 2023 season with a shoulder injury, deep.
Early this spring training, Treinen impressed. He missed most of the 2022 season with a shoulder injury and the entire 2023 with shoulder surgery. He has been throwing bullpen sessions and his velocity and movement have been fantastic. If Treinen can open in South Korea, the Dodger bullpen will be great.
The Dodgers signed Brasier close to the beginning of spring training to a two-year contract. When Brasier joined the Dodgers, their bullpen improved greatly. At 36, Brasier is a good solid right-handed reliever who can get left-handed batters out.
