After an emotionally charged series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Los Angeles Dodgers went to Anaheim. While the Dodgers looked at the series as an ordinary series, the Angels looked at the series as their World Series. Walker Buehler hurled his best since June, but the Dodgers didn’t score enough to give him a well-deserved win. Both the Dodgers and the Angels’ bullpen were brilliant. In the tenth, Miguel Rojas singled in the winning run, but after the Angels walked Shohei Ohtani intentionally, Mookie Betts blasted a three-run homer. The Los Angeles Dodgers swatted the Los Angeles Angels 6-to-2.
Freddie Freeman walked with two outs in the first. He didn’t score.
Walker Buehler allowed a single with an out in the first and issued a walk with two outs. He escaped from the jam scorelessly.
The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the second inning.
Buehler allowed a solo home run to start the second inning. He gave up a single. Buehler didn’t allow anything else.
Miguel Rojas walked to open the third and scored on Shohei Ohtani’s triple. Mookie Betts singled in Ohtani. Betts stole second. Freddie Freeman singled him to third. The Dodgers didn’t score any more runs.
Buehler was perfect in the third inning.
The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fourth.
Thanks to a double play, Buehler faced the minimum in the fourth.
In the fifth, the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively.
With two outs in the fifth, Buehler gave up a solo home run tying the score. He allowed a single and stolen base. He escaped the inning without allowing any more runs. For the first time since June 15th, Buehler went five innings.
The Dodgers didn’t do anything at the bat in the sixth.
Daniel Hudson relieved Buehler in the sixth. He was perfect.
The Dodgers did nothing in the seventh.
Evan Phillips relieved Hudson in the seventh. He was perfect.
Chris Taylor walked to open the eighth and was balked to second. The Dodgers wasted a scoring opportunity.
Blake Treinen relieved Phillips in the eighth. He was perfect.
The Dodgers couldn’t do anything offensively in the ninth.
Michael Kopech relieved Phillips in the ninth. He was perfect.
In the tenth inning, Rojas singled in Tommy Edman. Shohei Ohtani was walked intentionally. Betts socked a three-run homer. Freeman singled
Ryan Brasier relieved Kopech in the tenth. He uncorked a wild pitch moving the placed runner to third.
