On an overcast and a cold Wednesday evening at Oracle Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers finished their six-game road trip with a .500 record. While Elieser Hernández and Eduardo Salazar pitched well in their Dodger debuts, the offense didn’t show. The Dodgers lost to the Giants 4-to-1.

From the beginning of the game, the Dodgers looked ready to go home. They wasted many scoring opportunities. They should have swept the San Francisco Giants that have many injured players.

After Mookie Betts singled and Shohei Ohtani walked, Will Smith was hit by a pitch to load the bases in the first. The Dodgers wasted this scoring opportunity against Logan Webb.

Elieser Hernández pitched a scoreless first inning. The Dodgers promoted Elieser Hernández who was built up to pitch six innings. He hurled a perfect second.

With two outs in the second, James Outman walked but was left.

In the third, Hernández allowed a two-run homer.

Ohtani singled and moved to third on Freddie Freeman’s single but was left in the fifth.

Elieser Hernández allowed a run in the sixth, but he had a quality start in his first game in the major leagues during the 2024 season.

With two outs in the seventh, Betts singled but was left.

Eduardo Salazar relieved Hernández in the seventh and pitched a scoreless inning.

To open the eighth, Freeman singled, and Will Smith’s single moved Freeman to third. Max Muncy’s sac fly scored Freeman.
