Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Game Recap and Highlights

The Los Angeles Dodgers opened a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies for the best record in the National League. While the Phillies took an early two-run lead, the Dodgers came back quickly with Teoscar Hernàndez’s two-run homer. Shohei Ohtani blasted a solo home run. Tyler Glasnow pitched well for six innings, and the bullpen performed well. The Dodgers beat the Phillies 5-to-3.

Freddie Freeman was back. #MaxStrong.

Brusdar Graterol was activated from the IL. He pitched for the first time this year. Blake Treinen with hip discomfort went on the IL. The Dodgers hope Graterol will perform well.

Tyler Glasnow hurled a perfect first inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the first.

With two outs, Glasnow allowed a triple and a run. He allowed a single. A wild pitch scored another run. Glasnow got out of a jam.

With an out in the second, Gavin Lux walked. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Glasnow hurled a scoreless third inning.

In the third, Jason Heyward doubled, and Andy Pages’ double scored him.  Nick Ahmed had an infield single. Shohei Ohtani had a sacrifice fly to score. Teoscar Hernàndez blasted a two-run homer. Freeman singled. Will Smith hit into a double play.

In the fourth, Glasnow pitched a perfect inning.

Lux opened the fourth with a double. Heyward’s ground advanced Lux to third, but the Dodgers didn’t score.

Glasnow hurled a perfect fifth inning.

With an out in the fifth, Ohtani doubled. Ohtani stole his 32nd base, but the Dodgers didn’t score.

In the sixth, Glasnow allowed a single and a double with one out. A run scored on a ground out. He got out of a jam.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Michael Kopech relieved Glasnow in the seventh. With two outs in the seventh, he allowed the first single as a Dodger but kept the Phillies quiet.

Thanks to two fantastic defensive plays, the Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the seventh.

Anthony Banda relieved Kopech in the eighth. He walked the first batter and a single but got out of the jam scorelessly.

Ohtani homered in the eighth.

Daniel Hudson relieved Banda in the ninth and closed out the game
