On a windy Tuesday night in Washington, D. C., the Los Angeles Dodgers swatted the Washington Nationals 11-to-2.  Landon Knack earned his first major league win.

Shohei Ohtani doubled in the first scored on Will Smith’s single. Max Muncy walked. The Dodgers couldn’t capitalize further.

Making his second major league start, Landon Knack hurled a scoreless inning despite allowing two hits. In the second, he allowed a home run before he lost his control, and he walked in a run before he got out of the jam.  Knack hurled a perfect third. The young right-hander didn’t have as good control as he did in his major league debut and struggled to get the last out of an inning. Knack had an eight-pitch fourth inning.   Knack hurled a perfect fifth.

With an out in the second, Gavin Lux singled, and Andy Pages doubled. Mookie Betts singled in two runs.

After Smith doubled in the third, Muncy doubled in Smith. Teoscar Hernández doubled. They wasted another scoring opportunity.

Mookie Betts singled in the fourth but was stranded.

In the fifth, Smith singled, and Muncy doubled. Lux singled in both Smith and Muncy. After a pitching change by the Nationals, Pages grounded out to end the inning.

Smith opened the seventh inning with a single, his fourth hit of the game. The Dodgers left him.

After Knack’s six-inning wonderful performance, Ryan Brasier pitched a perfect seventh inning.

Andy Pages hit his second homer of his major league career in the eighth.  Betts doubled. Ohtani doubled in Betts. Freddie Freeman walked. Muncy walked. The Dodgers wasted another scoring opportunity.

Pages collected his third hit of the night in the eighth. Betts singled. Ohtani doubled in Pages. Freeman singled in Betts and Ohtani.

Ryan Yarbrough pitched a perfect eighth and ninth innings.
