On a pleasant evening after a Monday at Dodger Stadium, River Ryan was outstanding major league debut and Teoscar Hernandez drove in all three runs. The Los Angeles Dodgers lengthened their winning streak to four games by the San Francisco Giants 3-to2.

The Dodgers released James Paxton who had struggled with his control. He had been durable, something that the Dodgers need. However, they want quality starts, and Paxton couldn’t have any long outings. This signals the Dodgers trust Tyler Glasnow, Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto coming back from injury.

On Monday, River Ryan was going to make his major league debut. He came to the Dodgers from the San Diego Padres for Matt Beaty during spring training of 2022. When Ryan became a Dodger, he was a two-way player. Immediately after he became a Dodger, the organization made him concentrate on his pitching. Ryan had a rapid rise through the Dodger minor league system.

River Ryan walked the first batter he faced. He allowed a single, but he got out of the jam.

Blake Snell walked Shohei Ohtani who was caught stealing. The Dodgers didn’t do anything in the first.

In the second, Ryan pitched a perfect inning.

With two outs in the second, Miguel Vargas and Chris Taylor singled but didn’t score.

Ryan hurled a perfect third, collecting his first major league strikeout.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the third.

In the fourth, Ryan walked the first batter and allowed a single. A passed ball scored a run.

The rookie allowed a stolen base but wiggled out of the jam.

To open the fourth, Teoscar Hernandez blasted a solo homer.

Ryan pitched a perfect fifth. He has outstanding stuff and major league poise.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fifth.

After allowing two singles, Dave Roberts relieved Ryan with one out in the sixth with Alex Vesia. He struck out two to end the inning.

With two outs in the sixth, Freddie Freeman walked and moved to second. Hernandez singled in Freeman.

Ryan Yarbrough relieved Vesia and allowed the tying home run in the seventh. He got out of the seventh.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the seventh.

Blake Treinen walked a batter with two outs in the eighth and a stolen base but didn’t allow a run.

A misplayed fly let Kike Hernandez reach second to open the eighth. With an out, Will Smith walked. Freeman hit into a force play. Teoscar Hernandez singled in K. Hernandez.

Daniel Hudson hurled a scoreless ninth despite walking a batter.
