On a picturesque Jackie Robinson Day, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Washington Nationals 6-to.4.
Tyler Glasnow didn’t continue his dominance from Minneapolis when he allowed a double to lead off the game and threw a wild pitch to let the Nationals score a run, which was the first run he allowed in the first inning this season. Glasnow had another jam in the second but worked out of the jam. In the third, he allowed a solo home run. Glasnow didn’t have the command necessary to dominate. He allowed another run in the third. He retired the side in order in the fourth. In the fifth, Glasnow was visibly tired and allowed a three-run homer. Every starter has a bad game once a while, and Monday was Glasnow’s first bad game in a Dodger uniform.
Shohei Ohtani singled and went to third on Freddie Freeman’s single. Will Smith had a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
To open the second, Max Muncy doubled and went to third on Kiké Hernández’s sac fly. Chris Taylor hit a sacrifice fly to score Muncy.
Smith had an infield single to open the fourth but was stranded.
Nick Ramírez used eight pitches to hurl perfect sixth and seventh innings.
Ohtani reached on catcher’s inference, stole second, and went to third on a wild pitch. Smith drove in Ohtani with a grounder. Teoscar Hernandez singled.
James Outman singled to open the seventh, went to second on Mookie Betts’ single but was stranded.
Ricky Vanasco made his major league debut by pitching scoreless eighth and ninth.
T Hernàndez doubled in the eighth and scored on Muncy’s single.
