Freeman and Kim Shine in Dodgers’ 6-5 Victory

On a windy Saturday afternoon at Camelback Ranch, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-to-5. For the first time this spring, Freddie Freeman and Hyeseong Kim homered.

 Matt Sauer, who was pitching for the Dodgers, had hurled two innings despite allowing a run. In the third, Sauer allowed a run when he gave up three singles.  Hyeseong Kim made an error that made Sauer leave the game.

Giovanny Gallegos struck out the last batter in the third, and he was brilliant in the fourth.  

In the third, after Kim walked, he scored on Griffin Lockwood-Powell’s double.

With one out in the fourth, James Outman walked and stole second. The Dodgers didn’t score.

Edgardo Henriquez relieved Gallegos in the fifth with a perfect inning.

In the fifth, Kim blasted his first home run of the spring.

José Rodriguez began the sixth and allowed a one-out double. He allowed a run-scoring single. He issued a walk. Rodriguez finally got out of the inning.

Freddie Freeman blasted a solo home run in the sixth. Teoscar Hernández doubled and went to third on a wild pitch. Outman’s sacrifice fly scored Hernández.

Jose E. Hernández plunked a batter with two outs in the seventh and allowed a two-run homer.

Kody Hoese walked to start the seventh. The Dodgers scored the tying run.

The Dodgers pitched a scoreless eighth.

Aaron Bracho socked a two-run homer in the eighth.

The Dodgers pitched a scoreless ninth.
