Freddie Freeman’s Home Runs and Teoscar Hernández’s Performance Lead Dodgers to Victory

Maybe, the most important series that the Dodgers have played in the regular season since 2018. The Dodgers’ offense answered. Freddie Freeman blasted two home runs, and Teoscar Hernández had a five-hit game. The Los Angeles Dodgers won three out of four games. The Dodgers smashed the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-to-6. They lead the Diamondbacks by six games in the National League Western Division.

Shohei Ohtani opened the game with a single and was erased by a double play hit by Mookie Betts. Freddie Freeman walked. Teoscar Hernández doubled moving Freeman to third. After a prolonged at-bat, Will Smith struck out to end the scoring threat.

Jack Flaherty despite allowing a base runner faced the minimum in the first.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the second.

Flaherty struck out the side in the second inning.

Chris Taylor doubled to begin the third. Ohtani’s grounder advanced Taylor to third. Betts singled in Taylor. Freeman blasted a two-run homer, his third in the series. Teoscar Hernández tripled.

To start the third, Flaherty allowed a double. He issued a walk. The Diamondbacks scored a run with two outs. He gave up nothing else.

Miguel Rojas blunted for a single to begin the fourth. He advanced to second on Kiké Hernández’s sac fly. He went to third on Taylor’s fly ball. Ohtani walked. Ohtani stole his 44th base. The Dodgers wasted a scoring opportunity.

With two outs in the fourth, Flaherty allowed a single but got out of an inning scorelessly.

With an out, Teoscar Hernández singled but was caught stealing.

With two outs in the fifth, Flaherty allowed a single. He pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

To open the sixth, Flaherty allowed a single, but the runner was erased by caught stealing. He issued a walk.

Dave Roberts relieved Flaherty with Alex Vesia with two outs in the sixth. He struck out the last batter of the sixth.

Ohtani singled with an out in the seventh and stole second and third, his 46th. Betts walked intentionally. Freeman had a sacrifice fly to score Ohtani. Teoscar Hernández had an infield single moving Betts to third. Will Smith singled in two runs.

Ryan Brasier relieved Vesia in the seventh. He allowed a lead-off single. He allowed another single moving the runner to third. A sacrifice fly scored a run.

Anthony Banda relieved Brasier with one out in the seventh. He allowed a single moving the runner to third. The Diamondbacks scored a run on a ground out. Banda allowed an infield single to move the runner to third. The Dodgers finally got out of the inning with allowing two runs.

With an out in the eighth, Taylor singled. Ohtani walked moving Taylor to second. Betts doubled in Taylor and Ohtani. Betts moved to third on a wild pitch. Freeman socked a two-run homer. Teoscar Hernández had an infield single. Smith singled moving Teoscar Hernández to second. Tommy Edman singled scoring Hernández and moving Smith to third.

Michael Petersen relieved Banda in the eighth. The Dodgers demoted Justin Wrobleski to promote Petersen. With two outs in the eighth, Petersen allowed a solo home run. He got out of the inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the eighth.

Brent Honeywell relieved Petersen in the ninth. With one out, he allowed a ground-ruled double and a walk. He allowed a two-run single.
