On a gorgeous Thursday afternoon at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers swatted the Saint Louis Cardinals 7-to-1.

After a busy and exciting offseason, the Dodgers finally played a real game at Dodger Stadium. Every new acquisition, except Yoshinobu Yamamoto, contributed. Most baseball-knowledgeable people think the Dodgers will compete for the best team in the sport and go deep in the playoffs.

The four MVPs in the Dodger lineup singled and scored two runs in the first inning.

While Tyler Glasnow worked hard in the first, he breezed through the second and third. Unlike in Korea, he had great control, and his curveball was working. Glasnow gave up a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the fourth. Glasnow went six innings and struck out five and walked one. If he can remain healthy and effective, he will be the Dodger ace and in the competition for the National League Cy Young award.

In the third, Mookie Betts homered, and after Shohei Ohtani walked, Freddie Freeman homered.

In the sixth after Teoscar Hernandez doubled, James Outman singled.

Ryan Yarbrough pitched three innings in relief.

In the seventh, Betts walked, Freeman walked, and Max Muncy singled in Betts.

Since 1977, I have been an avid Dodger fan. In high school, I became my school's baseball statistician and vowed to have a career in baseball. After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
