Dustin May Shines in Dodgers 4-1 Victory Over Angels

Spring training is over! The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-to-1. Dustin May was fantastic for five innings. Will Smith had a two-run homer.

Mookie Betts played and took three at-bats. Since Monday, Betts has been keeping solid food down

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the first.

Dustin May allowed a single with two outs in the first, but nothing else.

With an out in the second, Max Muncy walked and scored on Will Smith’s two-run homer. Tommy Edman doubled but missed touching first base.

With two outs in the second, May plunked a batter but nothing else.

Shohei Ohtani doubled and didn’t score in the third.

May was perfect in the third.

With an out in the fourth, Muncy walked and was erased on a double play by Smith.

May plunked a batter with an out in the fourth and a run-scoring single. He got out of the jam.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fifth.

May blanked the Angels in the fifth.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Sam Carlson relieved May in the sixth with a perfect inning.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the seventh.

Jack Little relieved Carlson in the seventh. He walked the lead-off batter but didn’t allow anything else.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything in the eighth against Kenley Jansen.

Logan Boyer relieved Little in the eighth with a perfect frame.

Joe Vertrano doubled, Sean Mclain singled, and Kiké Hernández was intentionally walked to load the bases. Vertrano scored on a wild pitch, and Miguel Rojas had a sacrifice fly.

Patrick Copen relieved Boyer and allowed a single with an out in the ninth. With two outs, Dave Roberts lifted Copen for Lucas Wepf who got the save.
