Under bright blue skies at American Family of Fields in Phoenix, the Los Angeles Dodgers walloped the Milwaukee Brewers 9-to-3.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto looked OK but ran out of gas with two outs in the second when he allowed two runs. Yamamoto is slated to be Opening Day starter in Tokyo. The most important aspect of spring training for Yamamoto is to build up for his Opening Day start. He allowed a two-run homer in the third.  After 54 pitches in 3.2 innings, Yamamoto left the game.

Chris Taylor had a good spring training, including a double in the fourth inning during Wednesday’s game. David Bote continued to impress with a bases-clearing double. The Dodgers don’t have a place for Bote unless the Dodgers suffer an injury to Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy.

Hunter Feduccia continues to have an excellent spring. Feduccia is a backup catcher who is blocked by Will Smith and Austin Barnes. However, Feduccia is making a strong case that he belongs in the major leagues.

Tony Gonsolin was brilliant retiring three batters on six pitches in the fourth inning. His dominance though he allowed a hit, continued in the fifth. Wanting to join the Dodger starting rotation after having Tommy John surgery in August 2023, Gonsolin has proven he belongs on the 26-roster sometime in March.

Edgardo Henriquez relieved Gonsolin in the sixth. He was perfect.

Since 1977, I have been an avid Dodger fan. In high school, I became my school's baseball statistician and vowed to have a career in baseball. After I graduated from Pasadena City College, I started writing about my favorite team. In August 2001, I was featured in Her Blue Haven by Bill Plaschke. I was a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2001 to 2018. This website provides you a professional outlook on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
