On a cool Friday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Saint Louis Cardinals 6-to-3.

To lead off the game for the Dodgers, Mookie Betts homered for the 29th time as a Dodger to pass Davey Lopes for the franchise record. In the second, Teoscar Hernάndez homered, and after Will Smith walked and Max Muncy singled, Hernάndez blasted a 3-run shot.

Bobby Miller had a fantastic 2024 debut. He pitched six innings and established a new career high in strikeouts with 11. He had everything working to baffle the Cardinals. He just breezed until the sixth when he worked out of a jam when he walked a batter and allowed a single.

Michael Grove pitched a scoreless seventh inning despite allowing a single and continued in the eighth. He allowed an infield single and two walks before retiring a batter in the eighth.

Ryan Brasier relieved Grove and allowed a 2-run double and a sacrifice fly, but he wiggled out of the jam.

Evan Phillips closed the door on the Cardinals.

In the seventh inning, Miguel Rojas tattooed a ball for a home run.
