Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers traded Yency Almonte and Michael Busch to the Chicago Cubs for two teenage prospects. Trading Almonte and Busch freed up two roster spots of the 40-man roster. Soon, Teoscar Hernández will occupy a cleared roster spot.

Losing Busch hurts the Dodgers, but the team had no place to play the left-handed first baseman. Busch was a great offensive player, but he struggled defensively.

Almonte has a seesaw right-handed reliever. Sometimes, he was dominating, but at other times, he was awful. A strained forearm and a sprained knee plagued Almonte’s Dodger career.
