Welcome to Dodger Place

Since 1977, I have been an ardent Los Angeles Dodger fan. While in high school, I was the statistician for my school’s baseball team. Although my team was lousy, I loved the job and vowed to have a career in baseball.

I went to Pasadena City College, the same junior college as Jackie Roosevelt Robinson. While attending junior college, I began keeping a Dodger journal where I jotted down my ideas and opinions about my favorite team. I never considered being a baseball journalist since my English teachers disliked my composition. My grammar was not perfect, and my writing style was simplistic.

About two weeks after completing my associate degree, while writing about Don Drysdale’s sudden death, I realized I wanted to be a Dodger writer. I worked hard, covering the Dodgers about 50 hours a week. My writing improved. My love for the Dodgers endured two moves, one to rural Texas and the other to Cheyenne, Wyoming

My love for the Dodgers was featured in Bill Plaschke’s column in the Los Angeles Times twice. For 17 seasons, I worked as a freelance writer for Major League Baseball Advanced Media.

This site is dedicated to the Los Angeles Dodgers. You will find game reports, player profiles, player analyses, injury news, trade news, and editorials. I am not going to create controversies to attract more fans. Unless the Dodgers do something during this offseason, articles will appear on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.
