On a picturesque Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-to-1 to finish a 4-5 home stand. Dustin May was brilliant for six innings, only allowing a solo home run. Teoscar Hernández socked a three-run homer to supply the offense against Corbin Burnes. Jack Dreyer, Lou Trivino, and Tanner Scott were excellent out of the bullpen. The Dodgers lead the San Francisco Giants by two games in the National League Western Division.
Dustin May walked the lead-off batter but was erased on a double play. He struck out the last hitter of the first inning.
The Dodgers went down in order in the first.
With an out in the second, May allowed a single but struck out two hitters.
The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the second.
Using 10 pitches, May was perfect in the third.

May allowed a monstrous solo home run to start the fourth. With two outs, he allowed a single but coaxed a fly out to end the inning.
Freddie Freeman singled with two outs in the fourth, but Teoscar Hernández struck out to end the inning.
With an out, May plunked a batter in the fifth. He retired the next two hitters.
With an out in the fifth, Max Muncy walked but didn’t advance.
With an out in the sixth, May allowed an infield single and a traditional single, moving the runner to third. May escaped from the jam scorelessly.
Miguel Rojas singled to begin the sixth, and Mookie Betts singled Rojas to second. Teoscar Hernández blasted a three-run homer. The Dodgers didn’t score any more.
Jack Dreyer relieved May in the seventh and allowed a single to start the inning. He gave up a single, moving the runner to third. Dave Roberts relieved Dreyer with Lou Trivino, who retired the last batter of the inning.
The Dodgers went down in order in the seventh.
Trivino continued pitching in the eighth with a perfect inning.
With two outs in the eighth, Betts singled but was left.
Tanner Scott relieved Trivino in the ninth with a perfect inning.
